WHY THE NAME?

In 1804, Joseph Marie Jacquard perfected a loom, based on a binary system, that revolutionized the weaving industry in France. This innovation at once expanded and simplified the weaving process. Now, weavers could produce fabrics whose intricacy and beauty, before then, could only be imagined.
